For clear and relevant information "Audio in Media" is very helpful.", Alten does an excellent job of describing the preparation for and process of recording, both in the studio and in a field location. I appreciate his comprehensiveness in discussing microphones, mixers, nonlinear systems and equipment for field recording., The book is very thorough from discussions of the physics of audio and acoustics to specific instruction on things such as voiceovers and background music., The book represents one of the best and most comprehensive undergraduate college texts covering all aspects of audio in various media. The book works exceptionally well for this introduction to audio concepts.
